The Philippines has been one of the most dynamic economies in the East Asia and Pacific region. In this visualization, we can see which provinces have the highest and lowest contribution to the National GDP and GDP Growth Rates.

Key Insights

  • As of 2022, NCR alone contributes a whopping 31% to the national GDP, almost twice as 17% of Mindanao.
  • The top 3 highest GDP are all in region IV-A and the rest of the provinces are also in Luzon.
  • The highest per capita GDP are mostly HUCs. The lowest per capita GDP are all from BARMM.
  • In contrast, two of the regions with highest per capita GRDP are from Mindanao.
  • Aklan has the highest growth rate as of 2022 at 22.5%. Dinagat Islands has the lowest growth rate at -4.3%.
