Thailand is a country that has something for everyone. From the bustling streets of Bangkok to the serene beaches of Phuket, there is no shortage of adventure and relaxation to be found. I recently had the pleasure of traveling to Thailand and was blown away by the beauty and diversity of this amazing country.
I will discuss my budget and itinerary during my travel. I was traveling with a friend so most expenses on this article are split.
Bangkok
Bangkok is a city that is known for its delicious food. From street food to fine dining, Bangkok has it all. The city is famous for its spicy and flavorful dishes that are sure to leave you wanting more. Some of the most popular dishes include Pad Thai, Tom Yum Goong, and Green Curry.
Since we live in the province, we had to book a flight from Dipolog to Manila. We arrived in Manila at around 5PM and our flight to Bangkok was in the morning the next day. We worked the night before our flight to Manila so it was tiring. We decided to book a room at Wings Lounge to rest (P1,800 for a room for 2 pax).
At about 3AM, we decided to check in and line up at the immigration counter.
Immigration Process
My immigration experience was smooth and it went well. The officer asked for our return flight. He then asked and verified the date of my return. He was a bit surprised because my return flight was in 29 days. I then explained that I will visit Malaysia and Singapore before returning to the Philippines. He asked which company and industry I work for and requested my Company ID and HMO Card. He also asked if I have a credit card and handed it to him. (I think the reason why he asked for a credit card is if I’m going to be short on funds during my travel, I have a credit card to use, LoL. Let me know what you think. Why do officers ask for a credit card?).
My friend, on the other hand, was asked several other questions including her previous works and companies. The officer requested all the booked flight tickets and hotel bookings. She was also asked if she has a credit card and handed it to the officer.
This is both our first-time international travel so we were a bit nervous but we both made it. HAPPY TIMES!
Arrival in Bangkok
The flight time is almost 4 hours. We arrived in Bangkok at around 10AM (Local Time). Be advised that Philippines is one hour ahead of Thailand.
We passed immigration and waited for our luggage in the baggage carousel. There are no questions asked when entering Bangkok. We bought a sim card for THB 300 and went to the basement to take the train to the city. The fare from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Phayathai Station is THB 45 and another THB 17 to Victory Monument.
We booked our stay at College Haus Pratunam. I booked it in Agoda for PHP 16,034.18 for 9 nights for 2 pax (PHP 8,017.09 per pax). Since we arrived early, we left our bags in the holding area and went out to have lunch.
It’s time to explore Bangkok.
